Nutrition Philosophy

“..do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body..”

Matthew 6:25

My Nutrition Philosophy

Because food is an essential part of the human experience, the views on food and nutrition stretch far and wide. What to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat, are questions that plague the mind when there is a disconnected understanding of food, nutrition, and our bodies.

My nutrition philosophy is that food was intended to be a joyful part of life. A gift given to us by our Lord. I would be honored to guide you as you heal your relationship with food and achieve food-freedom.

Non-Diet Approach & Intuitive Eating

The goal of nutrition therapy with a non-diet approach is to form a more healthy relationship with food and build confidence in your own body. To achieve this, we learn your body’s natural signs of hunger, fullness, satiety, and body-food choice congruence over using conventional methods like food restriction and calorie counting. We will find strategies that are practical so they can be easily incorporated into your life. In time, you will be more attuned to your body’s needs.

Weight loss is not the main focus of an intuitive eating lifestyle, however it can be an attainable outcome. Everyone has a genetic blueprint of their own personal right-size or natural weight where they feel comfortable and most like themselves. Learning to eat what our bodies need is the key to achieving and maintaining your natural weight.

We can also discuss other food topics like grocery choices, planning meals for yourself and your family, developing recipes and cooking techniques, and setting the table for a welcoming meal.

If this is something you have longed for, I cordially invite you to join me at Sacred Table. I am so happy to have you!
